McCOOK Neb. — Families in McCook will have access to free dental care on Wednesday, August 6, thanks to Nebraska Total Care’s mobile dental van program. The event will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at McCook Christian Church, 507 W B Street.
The dental van, part of a statewide outreach initiative, travels to communities with limited access to dental services. McCook has been a repeat stop on the tour due to high demand and ongoing need in the area. This will mark the third time the van has visited McCook since 2022.
Services include dental screenings, fluoride treatments, school-required dental exams, and cleanings for children. Sealants and dentist consultations are also available. While extensive procedures are not performed on-site, patients will receive referrals and resources for follow-up care as needed.
There are no insurance, income, or residency requirements. Services are free and available to anyone who attends. However, children under 18 will need a parent or guardian present to give consent. Attendees are seen on a first-come, first-served basis, and wait times may vary depending on need. Two dentists will be on-site to serve as many patients as possible.
Nebraska Total Care funds the program and partners with local organizations to help promote the event. McCook Christian Church is generously providing the location.
