The Red Willow County Board of Commissioners and Board of Equalization met on August 19, 2025 at the courthouse. The meeting opened with approval of the agenda, though no citizens offered comments during the public participation period. Commissioners approved minutes from previous meetings, authorized a special designated liquor license for HoJo’s Hideaway, and signed an oversized load permit for Ward Craft Homes. The board also worked on budget discussions. The meeting adjourned at 12:15 p.m., with the next session scheduled for August 25.
Looking ahead, the August 25, 2025 meeting will include a Health and Fair budget workshop and a jail inspection. Items on the consent agenda include approving accounts payable and payroll claims, department inventories, and a series of resolutions setting local subdivision levies. The board will also consider agreements for floodplain administration, tractor leasing for Kiplinger Arena, and law enforcement services with the Village of Bartley. Additional business includes the annual certification of program compliance, reappointments to the Veterans’ Service Board, and adoption of the 2025 Local Emergency Operating Plan.
The meeting begins at 8:30 a.m. in the Commissioners’ Room at the courthouse, with the Board of Equalization convening at 9:15 a.m.
