McCOOK Neb.– Art enthusiasts rejoice! ArtBank is set to reopen its doors for its second full season tonight, April 3rd, at 5:00 PM. After an off-season filled with artistic exploration across the globe, including visits to major art hubs like New York, Paris, and Berlin, Chad Graff and his wife, JoAnn Faulkenburg, are ready to unveil a dynamic lineup of exhibits and programs.
Graff emphasized the focus on accessibility and community engagement, stating, “We'll reopen on Thursday at 5 PM at ArtBank. Around 7 PM, I’ll give a few remarks about what the new season will hold and share what we accomplished during the off-season.”
This season, ArtBank will feature expanded open hours to better serve the community: Thursdays from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The sixth floor will be available for visits by appointment.
“Most of the visitors last season came to ArtBank,” Graff explained. “I think it makes sense to focus more of our open hours there.”
The new season promises a diverse array of exhibits, including:
- Quentin Fortney: Opening later in April, featuring abstract photographs of the Alaskan landscape.
- Brigham Larington: Also opening in late April, showcasing new works.
- Irene Delco McCray: A major highlight, opening July 19th, featuring powerful paintings from her “Mother Lasting” series, curated by Lucas Kotschwar.
- Christopher Prinz: Plans are underway for an exhibit showcasing his prototype sculptures and lamps.
ArtBank will also welcome back interns Asher Long and Fatima Rodriguez Hernandez, who will assist with open hours, the youth art program, and curate an exhibit of Creative Growth fashion pieces. “It’s great to give them a platform and space to create,” Graff noted, emphasizing the importance of engaging young artists.
The youth art program will return in June and run through August, aiming to reach full capacity. Additionally, ArtBank has acquired a 1985 Land Rover Defender to provide airport pickups and enhance the visitor experience.
ArtBank is located at 108 West D St, McCook, NE. Donations are always welcome to support this 501(c)(3) non-profit organization..
